Our team was on location at Islamabad High Court to witness tensions between PTI supporters and police reach boiling point as the former president arrived at the court after his arrest.

On May 9, Imran Khan was arrested amid allegations of corruption. The former president of Pakistan stands accused of unlawfully selling state gifts during his premiership.

Dramatic images of his arrest began circulating on social media and sparked a wave of intense demonstrations across the South Asian nation. According to Pakistani police, nearly 1,000 people have been arrested and eight people have died nationwide in the protests.

Supporters of the 70 year old and his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), gathered outside of Islamabad High Court as Khan was transported to the location to begin the process of facing trial. Tensions between the protesters and police turned to violence as the former leader arrived on the scene.
